The world is faced with a severe shortage of healthcare resources. Those who are most in need of help are often ignored by the major players in the medical space. Duke GAMI aims to leverage the technical expertise and passion of students around the world as well as the invaluable experience of healthcare professionals to develop impactful technologies, policies, and programs and make healthcare accessible to all.

Members of the GAMI chapter have the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge innovation projects related to healthcare. Students will receive mentorship from other team members and faculty regarding their projects. Students will gain experience with the design process, research projects, IRB approval for clinical studies, and potential scientific manuscripts. Additionally, GAMI is a chapter of the national GAMI organization that gives students connections to researchers, physicians, and faculty around the world, including Harvard University in the US and research hospitals in India.

Our mission is to highlight and expand upon topics at the intersection of Humanities and Medicine. Annually, we invite and sponsor speakers who majored or minored in English to address the Duke Student Body and share their own experiences embracing duality within these fields of study. In hosting these events, we seek to unite those who hope to combine, rather than choose between, these subjects and thereby enhance our intellectual culture.

The mission of DRSPr is to establish and facilitate a structured program that introduces underclassmen (freshmen and sophomores) to all of the research opportunities that exist at Duke, which is widely recognized as a pre-eminent international research institution, and continues to fuel their passion throughout their undergraduate career at the university. DRSPr seeks to integrate the most critical components of a positive and meaningful research experience, and combines that with a process that allows motivated students to connect with dedicated research mentors. DRSPr seeks to accomplish this mission by facilitating semester-long programs for underclassmen, in which they are matched with research mentors and participate in a series of professional development seminars, culminating in a final presentation of their own research. Furthermore, DRSPr will provide a network of support for alumni of these programs.

EIR aims to invigorate the engineering spirit on campus by creating a space where students can come together to work on novel projects for the sake of engineering. By taking on an annual project outside of the context of an official competition or organization, students are encouraged to design for the sake of it, are taught key fabrication skills not covered in the classroom, and can be connected to peers in both Trinity and Pratt in the common joy of taking ideas to reality.

The mission of Lyceum is to create community and provide academic/career resources for Duke students who are interested in math, and to promote exploration of math amongst the entire student body. Lyceum will work alongside the Duke Math Department to offer educational, career-related, and social events. The club seeks to be a vibrant and inclusive hub for math at Duke.
