Our Mission

Project Tadpole strives to increase the accessibility of adaptive toys for children with disabilities through the application of engineering skills – creating an innovative and inclusive environment for adapted play.

What does Project Tadpole do?

Toy Design, Modification, & Repair

Participate in weekly toy sessions to adapt toys for children with disabilities or repair donated toys.

Educational Material Development

Pass on your knowledge! Make tutorials, YouTube videos, blog posts, etc. to teach others how to modify and repair toys.

Community Event Planning

Plan community workshops and toy exchange events for educators, clinicians, and families in Durham.

How can I get involved?

Toy Repair Engineer

Repair broken toys for children in the local community.

Toy Modification Engineer

Research commercial toys that can be modified and given away in a community toy exchange.

Outreach Coordinator

Research potential student or community organizations. Propose, lead, and execute an initiative with them.
