Duke Theta Tau is hosting the first event in a series of guest speaker events on December 9th. This event will be a mini panel of two speakers, Josh Miller and Itbaan Nafi, with an underlying theme of starting and running a business from an engineering perspective. Josh Miller is a Pratt School of Engineering alumnus (class of 2015) and a Distinguished Young Alumnus Award winner. He founded the now acquired startup FarmShots, which optimizes fertilizer use employing satellite data. He is currently the CEO of Gradient Health, which aims to increase early detection of stroke and cancer by connecting medical AI developers with data sets. Itbaan Nafi is an expert in sustainable design and development and will share his experiences founding and scaling a non-profit in his home country of Bangladesh. He will provide insights into how design and technology can be tailored to meet the unique needs of developing nations, focusing on resource efficiency, cultural sensitivity, and economic viability.
