Teacher Bios:
Jennifer Valentyn: I'm a long-time Duke staff member in the Duke Financial Economics Center (DFE) and a Koru facilitator of 2.5 years. Mindfulness helps me manage anxiety and stay connected to myself, others, and nature through constant change. In addition to offering tools for stress management, my aim in my Koru classes is to help participants foster self-compassion, self-knowledge, and an awareness that they are not alone, no matter what they are experiencing.
QuiAnne' Holmes: I have been at Duke going on my third year. Becoming a certified meditation teacher has helped me to gain self-awareness, tune into my breath, and develop life-long skills that help me interact with others each and everyday. My goal is to support students as they navigate how their breath can help them be more mindful of what their bodies need in the present moment.
