About Us

The Duke University Environmental Justice Network (DEJN) is a graduate and professional student coalition committed to addressing environmental injustices in North Carolina, the United States, and globally. As students, we also promote the conscious and active consideration of environmental justice and equity issues across Duke. By nature, environmental injustices are multi-faceted, and addressing them require a similarly interdisciplinary approach. While DEJN is centered at the Nicholas School, it is a cross-Duke network representing a diverse range of expertise to bridge the gaps between different schools and disciplines to further our service and professional goals. The DEJN addresses the university goals of furthering interdisciplinarity and knowledge in the service of society.
