2022-2023 Schedule and Results:

(Feb. - Oct. 2022) Current and former members of Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill Quiz Bowl and some guests produced a sequel to last year's ARCADIA for Fall 2022. In addition to writing for the set, Payton Schubel reprised her role as European Literature editor; Justin Zhang edited chemistry; Ashish Subramanian edited geography, current events, other academic, and linguistics; Kevin Jiang edited all other social science; and Jacob Egol reprised his role as auditory arts and Judaism editor and logistics lead. (Oct. 1, 2022) Winter Closed at UNC-Chapel Hill

Our team placed 6th out of 6 teams. (Jacob Egol wrote classical music, religion, and biology questions for this set.) Stats: Here

(Oct. 15, 2022) ACF Fall at UNC-Chapel Hill

Our teams placed 4th and 7th out of 11 teams. Stats: Here

(Oct. 22, 2022) Penn Bowl at Duke

Our teams placed 3rd and 6th out of 6 teams. Stats: Here

(Nov. 19, 2022) 2022 ARCADIA at Duke

(Those who did not work on the set were eligible to play.) Our house team placed 4th out of 6 teams. Stats: Here

(Jan. 28, 2023) ACF Regionals at VCU

Duke A (Ashish Subramanian, Jacob Egol, Jerry Lin, and Simon Gorbaty) placed 3rd out of 18 teams and earned a bid to ACF Nationals. Duke B placed 7th (fourth among all-undergraduate teams). Duke C placed 11th and won the Division II title. Stats: Here

(Feb. 5, 2023) NAQT SCT at UNC-Chapel Hill

Duke A (Ashish Subramanian, Jacob Egol, Jerry Lin, and Evan Knox) placed 2nd in a 4-team quadruple round robin and earned a bid to the NAQT ICT. Duke B and Duke C respectively placed 5th and 8th in Division II. Stats: Here

(Mar. 11, 2023) BHSU at the University of Maryland

Mixed team of Ashish Subramanian with UNC's Vittal Bhat, UNC alum Grant Peet, and Yale alumna Hasna Karim placed 3rd out of 6 teams. Mixed team of Jacob Egol with UNC players Jim Fan and Michael Eng and UNC alum Kevin Thomas placed 4th out of 6 teams. Mixed team of Kevin Jiang with UNC players Vincent Du, Eric Gunter, and Jonathan Shauf placed 5th out of 6 teams. Stats: Here.

(Apr. 1, 2023) NAQT ICT (Chicago, IL)

Duke A (NAQT SCT edition) placed 26th out of 32 teams in Division 1. Stats: Here

(Apr. 22-23, 2023) ACF Nationals at MIT

Duke A (ACF Regs edition) placed 12th out of 48 teams, becoming the first team in the history of Duke Quiz Bowl to place in the Top Playoff Bracket at ACF Nationals!
In the prelim rounds, they also upset champion Georgia Tech A, who went on to win ACF Nationals for the second consecutive year. Stats: Here

(Feb. – Aug. 2023) Duke Quiz Bowl members returned to the editing team for Chicago Open, as Jacob Egol edited the classical music and opera distribution for the 2023 iteration and Ashish Subramanian freelanced questions across several categories.
